About Me

Carlos Tesoro is a Filipino-American artist, educator, and producer with over two decades of experience in film, television, and theatre. He holds an MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama and a BA in Theater from Cal State Northridge, and currently serves as a NTT Assistant Professor of Theater at Chapman University. His teaching spans Directing, Text Analysis, Shakespeare and more—disciplines that inform and enrich one another, creating a holistic approach to craft and storytelling.
As a practitioner, Carlos has worked internationally as an actor, coach, director, and creative producer. He has collaborated on projects ranging from independent films to network television, directed original theatre works, and supported emerging artists in gaining recognition through SEE Asian Film Fest, where he serves as Festival Director. His company, View Frame Productions, is dedicated to telling unique stories that highlight marginalized voices and fresh perspectives. Most recently, his feature film Songs for Selina was released this spring on multiple streaming platforms.
Beyond the stage and screen, Carlos brings a unique dimension to his coaching as a certified clinical hypnotherapist, yoga instructor, and practitioner of transcendental meditation. He integrates relaxation techniques, breath work, and mindfulness into his teaching, helping performers unlock creativity, overcome blocks, and access greater presence in their work. Whether in the classroom, rehearsal hall, or coaching studio, Carlos combines rigorous technique with compassionate mentorship, guiding artists toward their fullest potential.
